White County School System (WCSS) is committed to knowing, valuing, and inspiring every student. WCSS is one of the state’s leading public charter school systems and was recently granted a ten year charter by the Georgia Department of Education while being called “A Model Charter School System for other systems who wish to become charter school systems”. A commitment to quality instruction, effective assessment, highly qualified staff, strong professional development, community engagement and rigorous standards is evident throughout the system. White County School System is blessed with a strong group of administrators, teachers, and staff who are dedicated to helping students make their dreams a reality. Over the last few years, White County Schools have received numerous state, regional, national recognitions and awards. White County primary school and all elementary schools have been identified as National Title I Distinguished Schools. In the past two years, Mount Yonah Elementary School and White County Intermediate School were recognized among the top 5% of Title I schools as Georgia High Achievement schools. Mossy Creek Elementary School was recognized for gaining over 20
points on the state College and Career Readiness Index (CCRPI) from the 2012-
13 to the 2013-14 school years. WCSS students consistently score among the state’s best on state assessments.
