Ninth Grade Academy

Director: Steve Bartlett

"What is the Ninth Grade Academy? Here at the NGA, we take the ninth graders and mold them into adults, academically and emotionally. The transformation these teens undergo while they're here is such a unique and rewarding transformation. And it's all thanks to the hardworking teachers and staff here at the NGA" -Steve Bartlett.

Directing A Better     World

Directing a Better World is a                                                        collaborative student approach to                                             identifying the needs of our                                                       community and suggesting creative                                       ways to remedy those problems using the                          medium of video and social media. Students are able to demonstrate civic engagement and express their opinions on these topics wielding various rhetorical techniques. Student groups submit their videos addressing their selected topics and then students vote on the videos that they find most convincing." -Dr. Cash

She says, "My     educational philosophy is that every student has the ability to learn and to do great things with his or her life. It is the responsibility of the educator to help students reach their full potential by guiding them on a self-directed journey of discovery and to create a classroom of lifelong learners."

Washington D.C.

Visiting Washington D.C. is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to experience. From visits to Washington’s famous monuments, memorials, and institutions students get to experience the origins of America. Students visit multipule monuments and memorials that display the history of their country. With the help of our Ninth Grade Academy staff and chaperones, students consider how the people and events represented in DC’s memorials impact their lives today.
